Video Interview Sick After NCAAs, Rachel Bootsma Happy With 100 Back


MESA, Arizona, April 14. FRESH off her 100 backstroke race at the Mesa Arena Grand Prix, California's Rachel Bootsma chatted with Swimming World TV's Tiffany Elisa. She talked about her illness after women's NCAA Championships and how she was shocked and excited about her 1:00.54 final time in the event.

100 backstroke recap: The California Golden Bears must be excited after a 1-2-3 for the squad with future Bear Missy Franklin earning the title in 1:00.15. That's just off her smoking season best of 59.34 from the Arena Grand Prix in Orlando. Franklin's future Golden Bear teammates Rachel Bootsma (1:00.54) and Elizabeth Pelton (1:00.84) rounded out the podium in what proved to be an incredible 1-2-3 effort down the stretch.
