USA Swimming Reveals Dates of Eight Remaining Sectionals Meets

Just a month remains until USA Swimming constructs the squad which will compete at this summer’s World Championships in Fukuoka. And while the International Team Trials in Indianapolis will feature the deepest field of the domestic long-course season, plenty of racing opportunities will present themselves during the summer campaign.

USA Swimming recently listed the eight sites that will feature top-tier competition as part of its Sectionals program. Action will begin in late June and will stretch into the middle of July, when five separate meets are held during a four-day span.

The Sectionals setup actually includes a nine-meet slate, with the Richmond competition already concluded. From May 18-21, several rising stars excelled in Virginia, including Erin Gemmell. The World Champs hopeful won the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle in Richmond, while Leah Shackley cracked the minute barrier in the 100 backstroke.

Here is a look at the Sectionals schedule for the remaining eight meets.

Plantation, Fla.

July 6 – 9 (LCM)

July 12 – 15 (LCM)

July 13 – 16 (LCM)
