RESULTS

UNLV showed its dominance in the relays, winning the first four. Reece Hemmens, winner of the 50 freestyle, anchored three of the winning squads. (He also turned in the third-fastest time in the 100 free despite a poor morning swim that landed him in the B final.) On two of the relays was Patos Bolanos, who won the 200 backstroke, took silver in the 100 back and earned bronze in the 500 free.

That latter event was a 1-2-3 finish for UNLV, led by Vuk Celic’s meet record. Celic added a win in the 1,650. Christopher Mykkanen, the runner-up in the 500 free, was also second in the 200 free and third in the mile. Bryan Chavez won the 100 butterfly and Sam Willstrop claimed the 100 breaststroke for the Rebels.

Air Force won the final relay, making it four total wins for Isaac Gwin, the only triple individual winner of the meet. Gwin completed the unorthodox triple of the 200 individual medley, 100 back and 100 free. Relay teammate Wen Zhang won the 200 free and earned silver in the 100 free.

California Baptist produced the diver of the meet, with Evan Honer sweeping all three events. Air Force’s Cole Armagost was second in the one-meter and platform.
