Top Eight Times from Final Night of Mid-Season Invitationals: Asia Seidt, Anna Hopkin Post A Cut Swims

There has been a lot of fast swimming going on this weekend in the November Invitationals. Swimming World has compiled a list of the eight fastest times in the nation this weekend to give you a better chance to understand what all is going on right now.

There were six notable invitationals this weekend in Division I with Texas A&M, Indiana, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Missouri and Iowa all hosting meets with some of the best swimmers in the nation competing.

Of note, there was only one A cut achieved in an individual event on the men’s side with Georgia Tech’s Caio Pumputis in the 200 breast (1:52.38). Georgia Tech has had a very impressive home invitational with Pumputis and Christian Ferraro putting up the nation’s top times of the weekend in the 200 breast and 200 fly respectively. Rodrigo Correia also put up the sixth fastest 200 back of the weekend in his home pool.

The Stanford women also put together a solid last session with Ella Eastin and Katie Drabot posting A Cuts in the 200 fly at the Ohio State Invite. The Cardinal also got a solid anchor leg from Taylor Ruck in the 400 free relay as the Canadian freshman split a 46.21Megan ByrnesLeah StevensZoe Bartel and Erin Voss also put up top eight times nationally this weekend.

There were ten A cuts achieved in individual events on the women’s side with Hawaii’s Phoebe Hines in the 1650, Kentucky’s Asia Seidt in the 200 back, Louisville’s Mallory Comerford and Arkansas’s Anna Hopkin in the 100 free, Indiana’s Lilly King and Texas A&M’s Sydney Pickrem and Anna Belousova in the 200 breast, and Louisville’s Grace Oglesby and Stanford’s Ella Eastin and Katie Drabot in the 200 fly.
