Swimming World Presents the 2016 Aquatic Athletes of the Year

2016 Athletes of the Year:

Each January Swimming World Magazine celebrates the accomplishments of the many other aquatic sports by naming our Athletes of the Year.

The athletes of water polo, diving, paralympic swimming and synchronized swimming all delivered strong performances at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Ashleigh Johnson of the USA took home was named the women’s water polo player of the year for the third straight year, while Serbia’s Filip Filipovic earned the men’s water polo player of the year for the first time.
