Three national records fell on night two of the 2018 YMCA National championships.

Swimming for the third time in the night, Upper Main Line’s Brendan Burns dove in for the 100 butterfly. Burns touched the wall two seconds ahead of second place, in 46.61. That time was a new YMCA National record, taking down one of the YMCA’s older national marks, a 46.96 set by US National Teamer Tim Phillips of Marietta in 2009.

Burns also led off the team’s winning 200 medley relay, topped the 200 backstroke, and was a part of a silver medal effort in the 4×100 freestyle relay.
