(PHOTO GALLERY): Day One of the ACC-B1G Challenge

The inaugural ACC-B1G Challenge kicked off from West Lafayette, Indiana, with the best of the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Big Ten Conference squaring off in an exhibition meet for conference bragging rights.

The meet has been very fast with almost every event seeing the fastest time in the country this season. Michigan’s Maggie MacNeil nearly broke 50 seconds in the 100 fly as the freshman swam a 50.09.

Louisville’s Mallory Comerford defeated Siobhan Haughey of Louisville to win the 100 free as the former swam a 46.96 to Haughey’s 47.09. Comerford also started the meet with a 45.97 to anchor the 400 medley relay, and also split a 1:41.89 in the 800 free relay.

Indiana’s Lilly King also split a 56.92 on the Big Ten’s 400 medley relay, and a 2:06.81 to win the 200 breast.

On the men’s side, Andreas Vazaios won the 200 back with an impressive 1:41.62 while his Wolfpack teammate Jacob Molacek won the 100 free from lane eight with a 42.63.
