NEW COMMIT: Miami University of Ohio has received their first in-state verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Waynesville, Ohio native Audrey Conley.

She will travel an hour west to Oxford to join the RedHawk’s Class of 2026.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Miami University! I really appreciated how hard the coaching staff and student athletes worked to connect with me, show me what Miami has to offer and get to know me even though I couldn’t visit in person. I am excited to be a part this amazing team!!! Go RedHawks!!!”

A talented freestyler who gets faster as the distance gets longer, Conley does her club swimming with Dayton Raiders and owns the Junior National standard in the mile. She competed at Juniors East in December and raced to sixth place in the 1650 free at the Southern Premier Invitational in March 2019.

Last summer, she won the 1500m free at Ohio LCM Seniors before going on to placed 12th in that event as well as 13th in the 800m free at Geneva Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:53.09
  • 500 free – 4:53.43
  • 1000 free – 10:15.63
  • 1650 free – 16:42.19

A current junior at Waynesville High School, Conley is already a four-time Ohio State Championship finalist. She finished fifth in the 500 free and seventh in the 200 free as a sophomore while taking third and ninth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

Conley has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts in the pool and in the classroom.

Even with just under two years to go before suiting up for the RedHawks in the fall of 2022, Conley will make an immediate impact. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 500 free and finished fifth in the mile at the 2020 MAC Championships. Conley also would’ve been their fastest miler last season, and her best time in that event is just 18 seconds off the school record.
