Junior National Qualifier Nick Clark Announces Verbal Commitment to Brown University

NEW COMMIT: Brown University has received a new verbal commitment* for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Landsdale, Pa. native and Junior National qualifier Nick Clark.

He will join Chris MaHarrison Powe and Kaan Kilinc in Providence as a member of the class of 2025.

He told Swimming World:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to Brown University for the class of 2025! I would like to thank my coaches, family, and friends for their help and support. I cannot wait to be a part of this great team and school. Go Bruno!”

A talented breaststroker and freestyler, Clark swims year-round with North Penn Aquatic Club and owns the Junior National cut in both the 100 breast and 200 breast. He won the 200 free with six additional top-6 finishes at the Arena Holiday Cup in December and raced to sixth in the 100 breast at TYR ISCA Junior Nationals in March 2019.

Last summer, he finaled in four events at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors before going on to place 13th in the 100m breast at Geneva Futures.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 56.12
  • 200 breast – 2:04.13
  • 100 free – 46.04
  • 200 free – 1:40.64
  • 200 IM – 1:52.94
  • 100 fly – 50.62

Also competing for North Penn Senior High School, Clark is a four-time Pennsylvania 3A State Championship finalist. He placed fourth in the 100 breast and 10th in the 200 free as a junior while taking 11th in the former event during both his freshman and sophomore seasons.

In 2020, the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American also finished fourth in the 200 free and seventh in the 100 breast at the PIAA District 01 AAA Championships.
