Harvard Adds Class of 2026 Verbal Pledge from YMCA National Finalist Anya Mostek

NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Anya Mostek of Haverford, Pa. has announced her verbal commitment* to Harvard University beginning in the fall of 2022.

She will join Lizzie Brock, Kaia Li and Sydney Lu in Cambridge at the start of the 2022-23 season.

She told Swimming World:

“I am thrilled to announce my commitment to the admissions process to swim and study at Harvard University! The team’s fun and supportive atmosphere, combined with its drive for excellence both in the pool and in the classroom, made this the school for me. Thank you to my family, friends, teammates and coaches for their tireless support. Go Crimson!!”

An extremely versatile swimmer, Mostek does her club swimming with Phoenixville Area YMCA Swim Team and most recently won four events at the YSCAP League Championships last month after earning four best times at the Toyota U.S. Open in November.

She also raced at Juniors East in December 2019 and placed sixth in the 100m back at YMCA Long Course Nationals in August 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 53.87
  • 200 back – 1:57.21
  • 200 IM – 2:00.59
  • 400 IM – 4:19.83
  • 50 free – 23.39
  • 100 free – 50.14
  • 200 free – 1:49.82
  • 500 free – 4:59.72
  • 100 breast – 1:04.59
  • 100 fly – 57.55
  • 200 fly – 2:07.71

Currently a junior at The Baldwin School, Mostek is a four-time Eastern Interscholastic League Championship finalist. She placed second in the 100 back and fourth in the 200 IM as a sophomore while taking third and ninth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.

She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors twice in her career thus far.

Under head coach Stephanie Morawski, Harvard placed second overall in the team standings at the 2020 Ivy League Championships.
