Georgia Tech Adds Another For 2022 From Kansas 6A State Runner-Up Anne Deedy

NEW COMMIT: Georgia Tech has received their sixth verbal pledge for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Anne Deedy of Mission Hills, Kansas.

She will join Ariana Dirkzwager, Caroline PorterfieldKiah SmithSabina Mrzyglod and Kendal Chunn as a member of the Yellow Jackets’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic careers at Georgia Institute of Technology! I want to thank everyone who has helped me through this process, especially my parents, family, friends, and coaches. Georgia Tech offered everything I was looking for in a school and I could not be more happy! Special thanks to Grandma Deedy and Grampy who were always so supportive of me and my swimming career. I know they are looking down at me smiling! GO JACKETS!! #togetherweswarm #buzzbuzz ??”

An extremely versatile swimmer, Deedy trains year-round with Empire KC Swim Club and most recently finaled in five events at Jenks Sectionals in March after earning a best time at the 18&U Winter Championships in December. She also raced two events at the Toyota U.S. Open and earned six gold medals at the 15th European Maccabi Games in Budapest in 2019.

  • 200 breast – 2:17.00
  • 200 IM – 2:04.50
  • 400 IM – 4:23.82
  • 100 fly – 56.20
  • 200 fly – 2:06.01
  • 200 back – 2:06.50
  • 50 free – 24.66
  • 100 free – 53.98
  • 200 free – 1:55.55
  • 500 free – 5:13.91

Currently a junior at Shawnee Mission East High School, Deedy was the runner-up in both the 100 breast and 200 IM at the Kansas 6A State Championships as a freshman. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors twice in her career thus far.

The Yellow Jackets are also bringing in a large and talented Class of 2025 that includes Rachel Fulton, Defne TacyildizSophie MurphyClarissa SabinCaroline PapeSarah Livingston and Lily Burke.
