Aledo’s Elijah Sohn successfully defended his state title in the 200 free, stopping the clock in 1:37.02 to win by over a full second en route to breaking Grant Reed’s Class 5A record of 1:37.19 set in 2017. Corby Furrer of Georgetown was the runner-up for the second year in a row after posting a time of 1:38.25 to tie with Austin Johnson’s Juan Ceresa.

For the second-consecutive season, Jed Michael Jones of Lucas Lovejoy earned gold in the 200 IM after finishing in 1:48.62 as the only swimmer in the race under the 1:50-mark. After tying for third in the 200 free, Ceresa had the gold all to himself in the 500 free after dropping over seven seconds from his morning time to win in 4:27.21. Jones raced to second in 4:29.69 while defending champion Furrer ultimately ended up third in 4:30.29.
