Former Ohio State diving coach William Bohonyi has pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery involving an underage diver, according to a report that appeared in the Los Angeles Times.

Bohonyi, 33, admitted to coercing Estee Pryor into sex acts when she was just 16-years-old and could face up to 10 years in prison. Bohonyi was 27-years-old at the time of the sexual battery. His guilty plea came as part of a plea deal that required him to register as a Tier 3 sex offender for the rest of his life in the state of Ohio in addition to his jail sentence. He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 12.

Allegation against Bohonyi initially came to light in 2014 when he was an assistant coach with Ohio State, and the university subsequently put him on administrative leave while the police launched an investigation.

Bohonyi is also the focus of a larger class-action lawsuit filed by Pryor against Ohio State, the Ohio State University Diving Club, and USA Diving that alleges the organizations did not do enough to protect athletes from sexual abuse from coaches. Ohio State University has also been under investigation related to the actions of former team doctor, Richard H. Strauss, who allegedly abused more than 100 student-athletes in almost 20 years at the university.

Sigh, another one that helps people doubt all the good coaches.
