NEW COMMIT: Sydney St. Rose-Finear, a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Scottsville, New York, has verbally committed to attend the University of Cincinnati beginning next fall. She trains with Victor Swim Club. Academy Bullets teammates Kenzie Arens and Camryn Streid and Ashley Mennenga and Olivia Schmelzer are also verbally committed to the Bearcats.

St. Rose-Finear is a freestyler. Her best times include:

  • 200 Free 1:52.34
  • 500 Free 4:57.63
  • 1000 Free 10:10.85
  • 1650 Free 17:25.96

She had a great long course season this year, culminating in two Futures top three finishes. St. Rose-Finear won the 400 free (4:19.91) in a new US Open Cut. She also earned her Junior Nationals cut with a third place finish in the 200 free (2:04.86). Her 1500 free (17:30.72) and 800 free (9:09.45) lifetime bests also came at Futures in August.

With her current short course times St. Rose-Finear is already an American Athletic Conference point scorer. She would have placed in the 500 free B final last year.

She told Swimming World,

“Super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at University of Cincinnati!! I cannot wait to be at a school with such great people, swimming and academics! Big thanks to all my family, friends and coaches who helped me get here! #GoBearCats”
