Based on the TikTok Trend: We’re Swimmers, Of Course We … (Fill in the Blank)!

Many of us have seen the TikTok trend, “We’re girls, of course we ALWAYS have a hair tie around our wrist!” Why not transition this trend to make it swimming-related? Read along for 10 relatable, “we’re swimmers…” phrases that most swimmers will probably understand.

We’re swimmers, of course we hate breath control sets!

One thing that most swimmers can all agree on is their hatred for holding their breath. Whether you are doing a breathing pattern, or underwater 25s, swimmers usually all agree that holding their breath is pretty unenjoyable.

We’re swimmers, of course we love doing starts and turns at practice!

Nothing is better than hearing your coach tell you at the end of practice to hop out for starts or go to the middle of the pool for turns. This is always a fun way to end a tough practice.

We’re swimmers, of course we always smell like chlorine!

No matter how hard we try, the smell of chlorine never seems to really go away. In fact, we actually become more and more used to the smell to the point where we don’t even notice how strong it is.

We’re swimmers, of course our hair is always wet!

Swimming twice a day leaves us little to no time for our hair to ever fully dry, especially for those who just throw it up in a bun after practice.

We’re swimmers, of course our skin is always dry!

We go through tubs of lotion and Aquaphor like no other! The chlorine is bound to dry out or irritate your skin from swimming in a pool filled with lots of chemicals every day.

We’re swimmers, of course we are always busy!

Between doubles, classes, homework and sleeping, swimmers have little time to hang out with friends or just relax. A social life is tough to come by.

We’re swimmers, of course we hate jumping into a cold pool!

One of the worst parts of practice is the initial feeling you get when you dive into a cold pool. After you start to move around, your body starts to warm up and get used to the water, but nothing beats that first dive in.

We’re swimmers, of course we hate sharing a lane with a bad lane-mate!

Nobody likes being in a lane with someone who swims down the middle of the lane, leaves early or catches up to you and touches your feet. Don’t be that teammate!

We’re swimmers, of course we are always hungry!

On top of all the long hours and grueling sets, swimmers have to fuel their bodies appropriately. Swimmers train so much which leaves them ready to eat after each and every practice.

We’re swimmers, of course we need a nap to survive our day!

Waking up at 5 a.m. is no joke, especially when you have a two-hour workout first thing! We rely on their daily naps to get them through the day!
