New Features: 

Breakfast and Lunch Roundtable Discussions with Speakers and 

Wine Tasting Hosted by Olympic Champion and Winemaker Natalie Coughlin

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — The American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) is proud to announce a stellar line up of speakers as well as several unique networking opportunities at the Pacific Coaches Clinic in Napa, California, Jan. 6-8, 2023. 

University of Texas Head Men’s Coach Eddie Reese, Bend Swim Team Head Coach Megan Oesting, Carmel Swim Club Head Coach Chris Plumb and ASCA Performance Advisor Russell Mark will present two talks each and will be available for small roundtable discussions (at a table for 10) during breakfasts and lunch.  Additionally, Coach Mark Schubert, ASCA CEO Jennifer LaMont and SwimAmerica Director Bill Meier will be hosting round table discussions coaches can sign up to attend.

All clinic participants are invited to enjoy a wine tasting in the exhibit hall on Saturday evening hosted by Olympic Champion Natalie Coughlin with wines from Gaderian Wines, which she co-owns with vinter Shaina Harding. This special event is included in the cost of clinic admission! 

A learn-to-swim talk during the clinic and a training for the new SwimAmerica Adult learn to swim program will be presented by SwimAmerica National Director Bill Meier. He will also be participating in the lunch and breakfast roundtable discussions.  

The majority of talks at this clinic will have an emphasis on age group coaching, both dry side and wet side.  Topics include Images for Teaching, Bend Swim Club Philosophy, Progression from Age Group to Senior, Team Culture, Texas Taper and How to grow your age group team with SwimAmerica.  For the full schedule, click here.

A lively exhibit hall will include over a dozen swim-related vendors who will be demonstrating products, sharing the latest technology and handing out giveaways.

Extra paid schools running during the day before Clinic kicks off are: 

Friday, Jan. 6, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. – ASCA Level 2 Stroke Course taught by Russell Mark – even if you have taken Level 2 before, we promise it was nothing like what you will get with Russell teaching it!

Friday, Jan. 6, 3:00-5:00 p.m. – LeadHERship Workshop taught by ASCA CEO Jennifer LaMont 

Friday, Jan. 6, 12:00-5:00 p.m. – Swimming Strength and Conditioning with Charlie Hoolihan 

Friday, Jan. 6, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. – SwimAmerica ALL NEW Adult Learn to Swim Program Training with Bill Meier
