Virginia’s Kate Douglass has been named the women’s ACC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, joined by men’s swimmer Evgenii Somov of Louisville. Florida State’s Samantha Vear and Joshua Davidson are the women’s and men’s Divers of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

Douglass set a pair of ACC records at a three-day double dual meet with Tennessee and Alabama in Knoxville. Douglass led off the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 21.42 seconds in the 50, undercutting the conference record set by North Carolina’s Caroline Baldwin in 2017 (21.48). The sophomore then went 1:50.92 in the 200 individual medley, lowering the mark she set at the 2020 ACC Championships .

Douglass, a native of Pelham, N.Y., also set UVA records in the 100 butterfly (twice, the last time a 49.73) and 100 free (46.86 off the front of the 400 free relay). She was part of four winning relays and holds the top time in the nation this season in four events (50 and 100 free, 100 fly, 200 IM).

Douglass was named the women’s ACC Swimmer of the Week in Week 1 of the season.

Somov won all six events he swam at the Louisville Invite. He earned NCAA A-cuts in two individual events, the 100 breaststroke (51.63) and 200 breast (1:52.22). He was also part of the Cardinals’ A-cut 400 free relay, which clocked in at 2:49.55.

Somov, a senior from St. Petersburg, Russia, also won the 200 IM and was part of victorious 200 and 400 medley relays for Louisville.
