NEW COMMIT: The University of North Carolina, Asheville has earned their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from in-state standout Brianna Cottingham of Pfafftown, N.C.

Her best times include:

  • 100 breast – 1:03.06
  • 200 breast – 2:16.99
  • 200 IM – 2:08.21

Cottingham does her club swimming with Northwest North Carolina YMCA Riptyde and most recently earned four best times at the YMCA Swim Festival in March after a stellar showing at the 18&U Winter Championships in December. In Summer 2019, she finished 13th in the 200m breast and 21st in the 100m breast at YMCA LCM Nationals.

Currently a junior at Ronald Regan High School, Cottingham finished fourth in the 100 breast in 2021 while taking 12th in that event as a sophomore at the North Carolina 4A State Championships.

She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100/200 breast, as well as the B-final of the 200 IM, at the 2021 CCSA Championships where the Bulldogs finished fourth overall.
