USA Diving Suspends All Activities For 30 Days

USA Diving has suspended all activities in wake of the coronavirus pandemic that has also caused practically all sporting events to be shut down in the United States. The period of inactivity will last 30 days pending any further action by the Board of Directors, per a release from USA Diving.

The Board has scheduled meeting on Sunday where contingencies will be discussed as well as plans for international competitions, further information will be forthcoming on Monday.

This decision follows what USA Swimming decided yesterday, in that they too will also suspend all sanctioned events for the next 30 days. The Olympic Swim Trials, which are set for June 21 in 100 days, will be determined at a later date if it is safe to proceed with that event.

The NCAA also cancelled the swimming and diving championships, which were to be held next week. The Division II championships, which were happening this week, got cancelled after just three sessions. The meet started as planned on Wednesday but spectators were barred from the venue on Thursday morning. The meet was officially cancelled Thursday afternoon.
