U.S. Open Qualifier Carson Brockette Delivers First Class of 2025 Verbal to Villanova

NEW COMMIT: Backstroker Carson Brockette of Dallas, Texas, has handed Villanova University their first verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Villanova University! I want to send a huge thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for all of their support along this journey. I look forward to working with the amazing coaching staff and team in 2021. Go Wildcats!”

Brockette does his club swimming with Dallas Mustangs and owns the U.S. Open cut in the 200m back. He most recently finaled in the 100 back at College Station Sectionals after racing both backstroke events at Juniors West. Last summer, he got a second-swim in the 200m back at Austin Sectionals and competed at Junior Nationals.

His best times include:

100 back – 51.33
200 back – 1:49.24
50 free – 22.47
100 free – 48.47

Also competing for Lake Highlands High School, Brockette has raced at the UIL Texas 6A State Championships the past two years. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was also the 100 back runner-up at the UIL 6A Region 02 Championships during his junior season.
