This is the Swim Poll of the Week for Tuesday November 3, 2020, sponsored by Strechcordz Swim Training Products. In our last poll, we wanted to know: Do you think the ISL can finish its season without a COVID-19 outbreak?

The International Swimming League has conducted its own “bubble” in Budapest this autumn as it housed all 240+ swimmers on Margaret Island in Hungary with all racing in the Duna Arena in Budapest in hopes that keeping all the athletes, coaches and personnel in the same area for an extended period would isolate them from the dangers of the coronavirus.

A bubble format worked well in the NBA, WNBA and MLS among other leagues in the United States, as players and coaches were able to not get sick from the deadly disease while they are playing the game they love so much. Thus far, there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 in the ISL bubble, as everyone has had to get tested multiple times before and after their arrival on the island, with some athletes like Femke HeemskerkFederica Pellegrini and Kristof Milak having to stay home to recover from the virus.

Heemskerk is already in Budapest after recovering, while Pellegrini has recently received a negative test and could be joining her team soon, while Milak is still at home despite being in the same country as the ISL bubble.

Max Litchfield had to sit out his last meet due to illness, but it was not confirmed to be coronavirus. Thus far, the ISL bubble has kept the athletes healthy and has prevented COVID-19 from affecting the league. But will that last through the end of November when the season comes to a close?

Here are the results for if people think the ISL can finish its season without a COVID-19 outbreak:

Yes – 73%

No – 27%
