Kayde Cross, Marko Vujosevic Verbally Commit to Texas Longhorns’ Class of 2025

NEW COMMITS: The University of Texas has scored two new verbal commitments for the fall of 2021 from Ballwin, Mo. native Kayde Cross and in-state standout Marko Vujosevic of Round Rock, Texas.

Both swimmers will join Nathan Quarterman, Luke Hobson and Anthony Grimm in Austin as members of the Longhorns’ class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m proud to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Texas. Choosing a college should have been more difficult; however, through the kindness, dedication, and amazing bond of the team and coaching staff, it made one of the most difficult decisions the easiest to make. A sincere thank you to my family, coaches and friends for the support throughout this incredible journey. Lastly, a sincere thank you to the University of Texas future teammates and coaching staff for believing in me and giving me this tremendous opportunity. ??Hook ‘em!”

A talented freestyler and backstroker, Cross swims year-round with Parkway Swim Club and owns two U.S. Open standards and two Junior National cuts. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American most recently collected three gold medals at Ozark Seniors after earning a best time at the Toyota U.S. Open. This past summer, he registered 100% best times at Jenks Sectionals and had four top-8 finishes at TYR ISCA Juniors last short course season.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.86
  • 100 free – 44.42
  • 200 free – 1:41.09
  • 100 back – 49.06
  • 200 back – 1:47.03

Regarding his commitment, he said:

I’m honored to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at the University of Texas, class of 2025!! I want to thank Coach Reese and Coach Collins for giving me this opportunity, Coach Mark and Marcy Parshall and Coach Tom Arredondo for preparing me so well, and my friends and family for the support. Hook ‘em!!??”

A versatile swimmer, Vujosevic does his club swimming with Aquatex Swim Team and has achieved a pair of Junior National standards. He most recently competed at the American SCY Championships where he notched three best times and had a strong showing at Austin Sectionals last summer. Also competing for Round Rock High School, he finished ninth in the 100 breast at the 2020 Texas UIL 6A State Championships.

His best times include:

  • 100 back – 49.69
  • 100 breast – 56.92
  • 200 breast – 2:07.28
  • 100 fly – 50.72
  • 200 IM – 1:53.31
