Georgetown Dives Into Class of 2026 With Verbal from Junior National Qualifier Allie Sanchez

NEW COMMIT: Georgetown University has picked up their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Allie Sanchez of Parker Colo.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at Georgetown University in 2022! Thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way! #HOYASAXA”

A versatile swimmer who specializes in backstroke, Sanchez does her club swimming with University of Denver Hilltoppers and recorded four top-15 finishes at Colorado Seniors in February 2020 pre-COVID. She has also earned several best times since the pandemic and raced both backstroke events at Juniors West in 2019.

Her best times include:

  • 100 back – 56.24
  • 200 back – 2:00.64
  • 50 free – 24.67
  • 100 free – 52.62
  • 200 free – 1:53.17
  • 100 fly – 57.56
  • 100 breast – 1:08.60
  • 200 IM – 2:08.82

Currently a junior at Regis Jesuit High School, Sanchez placed 16th in the 100 back at the Colorado 4A State Championships as a freshman. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts in the pool and classroom.

Sanchez would’ve scored in the A-final of the 100/200 back as well as the B-final of the 100 breast and 100 fly at the 2020 Big East Conference Championships where the Hoyas were the team runner-up.
