NEW COMMIT: Brigham Young University has scored a new verbal commitment for the class of 2025 from Halli Williams of Spring, Texas.

She will join fellow Spring, Texas native Alyssa Sorensen in Provo, Utah, in the fall of 2021.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at BYU! I am so grateful for all the people who have supported me though this process! GO COUGS!”

A talented sprint freestyler, Williams does her club swimming with Swim Ohana and most recently earned six best times at the Gulf Short Course Championships in February. Last summer, she raced to 13th place at Southern Zone Seniors where she notched four lifetime bests.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.82
  • 100 free – 53.04
  • 50m free – 27.97
  • 100m free – 1:04.35

Also competing for Klein High School, Williams competed at the UIL Texas 6A State Championships the past three years. She finished 14th in the 50 free during her junior season after winning that event at the 6A Region 04 Championships. During her sophomore season, she placed fourth in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 free at the Region 04 meet.
