NEW COMMIT: Breaststroker Maia Hall of Whitby, Great Britain, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Nebraska for the fall of 2021.

She will join Beatriz PadronJoJo Randby, and Madi Lloyd on campus as members of the Huskers’ class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. I would like to thank Coach Pablo and Coach Patrick for their guidance and the team for making me feel so welcome. I’m also grateful to Coach Bircher and the Titans for helping me to get where I am today. I am looking forward to the next chapter and being a member of the Husker Family! GBR”

Hall trains year-round with Ellesmere College Titans and most recently earned a best time at the Edinburgh International Meet in March. At the Scottish National SCM Championships in December, she placed fourth in the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke events.

In LCM, her best times include:

  • 50 breast – 32.60
  • 100 breast – 1:11.84
  • 200 breast – 2:33.74

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 breast – 29.01
  • 100 breast – 1:02.40
  • 200 breast – 2:14.83

When she arrives in Lincoln at the start of the 2021-22 season, Hall will make an immediate impact in the breaststroke events. Nebraska is losing their top breaststrokers due to graduation, and Hall’s best times (converted to yards) are just shy of scoring range at the 2020 Big Ten Championships.
