Tennessee Gets Early Verbal Commit From Versatile Junior Sean Hogan

NEW COMMIT: Sean Hogan has announced his verbal commitment to swim for the University of Tennessee beginning in the fall of 2019. Hogan is a junior at Saint Christopher’s School in Richmond, VA. He swims for Poseidon Swimming Inc.

His best times include:

  • 400 IM 3:51.61
  • 200 IM 1:51.52
  • 50 Back 23.37
  • 100 Back 49.38
  • 200 Back 1:47.55
  • 200 Breast 2:03.12

His best times come from as recently as December when Hogan posted a lifetime best in the 200 and 400 IM and the 200 breaststroke and 100 backstroke. He was also on fire at the end of his sophomore short course season, posting lifetime bests in the 50 and 200 back.

At last year’s Virginia Private School state championships Saint Christopher’s won the state championships, led in part by Hogan. He swam the backstroke leg of the team’s winning 200 medley relay before also winning the 200 IM and the 100 back.

Hogan said of his announcement,

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to Tennessee class of 2023. I chose Tennessee because I love the team and the coaches and I feel it is a good fit academically. Go Vols!”
