Stephanie Au Tops 100 Back on Day 3 of Malaysia Open

On day three of the 2016 Malaysia Open, seven meet records fell.

Phiangkhwan Pawapotako set a meet record in the women’s 200 breaststroke with a 2:32.21. Second place went to Phee Jinq En in a 2:34.91 and Erika Kong was third in 2:36.48.

The men’s 200 breaststroke champion Sandeep Sejwal also set a meet record with his 2:15.58. Wong FuKang placed second in 2:18.79 and Kwok Ka Fai got third in 2:18.84.

Cai Lin Khoo won gold in the women’s 400 freestyle with a 4:20.43. Silver went to Raina Saumi Grahana in 4:24.54, while Sagita Putri Krisdewanti completed the podium in 4:28.30.

Welson Sim Wee Sheng was the gold medalist in the men’s 400 freestyle with a 3:53.74. Silver went to Sajan Prakash in 3:58.08. The bronze medalist was Aflah Fadlan Prawira in a 3:58.71.

The top three swimmers were under 28 in the 50 butterfly. Sze Hang Yu touched first in 27.34. Chan Kin Lok stopped the clock in 27.63 for second. Third went to Nicholle Toh in 27.85.

In the men’s 50 butterfly, Glenn Victor Sutanto touched first in meet record time of 24.23. Cheran de Silva touched second in 25.07 and third went to Ng Chun Nam Derick in 25.09.

Another meet record fell in the women’s 100 backstroke when Stephanie Au added to her 50 backstroke win with a 1:00.48. Yessy Yosaputra was far behind, posting a 1:05.65. Sofie Kemala placed third in 1:05.90.

I Gede Siman S Sudartawa also lowered his own meet record in the men’s 100 backstroke, touching in 55.73. Ricky Anggawidjaja was second with his 57.21. Tern Jian Han completed the podium in 58.94.

The team from Hong Kong went the meet record in the women’s 400 freestyle relay. Cheng Camille Lily MeiYu Wai Ting, Hoi-Shun, and Chan Kin Lok touched in 3:55.14.

The men’s 400 freestyle relay meet record also fell. Triady Fauzi Sidiq, Putera Muhammad Randa, Glenn Victor Sutanto, and Joshi Jundi Karim combined for a 3:26.45.
