Santa Clara Futures Day Four: Salladin, Biolley and Crom Continue to Post Fast Times

Santa Clara Futures Day Four offered more competitive races and exciting finishes. Even with athletes battling the fatigue and exhaustion built up over the meet, some familiar names continued to rock the final results. The meet took place in Santa Clara, Calif. from August 2-5.

Santa Clara Futures Day 4 Finals – Results

Women’s 100 Free

Sarah Snyder of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics won the event with a time of 56.99, beating her heat by about half of a second. She dropped .59 from her prelims time of 57.58 and held her first place seed.

Quicksilver’s Ella Mazurek placed second with a 57.46, dropping .48 from her prelims time of 57.94. The 14-year-old held her second place seed.

Christina Bradley of Bellevue Swim Club finished third with a time of 57.48, only .02 behind Mazurek. She dropped .82 from her prelims time of 58.30 and moved up two spots from her fifth place seed.

Men’s 100 Free

Miles Mackenzie of Tiger Aquatics finished first with a time of 51.22, dropping a second from his seed time of 52.22. He moved up three places from his prelims seed of fourth.

Peter Lewczyk of North Bay Aquatics came in second with a time of 51.47, dropping .01 from his prelims time of 51.48. Lewczyk held his prelims seed of second.

CCAT Swimming’s Zachary Van Zandt placed third with a 51.62. Van Zandt dropped .67 from his prelims time of 52.33 and moved up three places from his prior sixth place seed.

Men’s 800 Free

Quicksilver’s Mason Carlton won the event with a time of 8:23.62, out touching second place finisher Gabriel Machado by .23. Carlton dropped an impressive 12.79 from his seed time of 8:36.44.

Boise YMCA’s Machado came in second with an 8:23.88, dropping 11.79 seconds from his seed time of 8:35.67. The 15-year-old moved up from his prior seed of sixth.

Jack Leuthold of Billings Aquatic Club touched third with a 8:24.30. He moved up 19 places from his seed position of 22nd, in which he was seeded with a yards time of 9:17.11.

Women’s 200 Back

Emma Lepisova of the Burlingame Aquatic Club finished first with a time of 2:17.51. Lepisova dropped 1.69 seconds from her prelims time of 2:19.20 and held her first place seed. She finished over a second ahead of the rest of her heat.

Skylar Dikeman of Tucson Ford Dealers came in second with a 2:18.85, 1.95 seconds faster than her prelims time of 2:20.80. She moved up one place from her prelims seed of third.

Victoria Gong of the Mission Viejo Nadadores placed third with a time of 2:19.07. She dropped .43 from her prelims time of 2:19.50 and finished over two seconds ahead of the fourth place finisher.

Men’s 200 Back

Niles Biolley of the Buenaventura Swim Club finished first with a time of 2:03.23, dropping .82 from his seed time of 2:04.05. He held his first place prelims seed and finished about two seconds ahead of the rest of the heat.

Boise YMCA’s Nathan Quarterman came in second with a 2:05.20. He dropped 2.64 seconds from his prelims time of 2:07.84 and moved up one spot from his prior seed of third. He finished about two seconds ahead of third place finisher Kevin Childs.

Canyons Aquatic Club’s Childs finished third with a 2:07.82, gaining .20 from his prelims time of 2:07.26. He lost his second place seed to Quarterman, but out touched the fourth place finisher Daniel Pry by .12.

Women’s 1500 Free

FAST Swim Team’s Cathryn Salladin took first with a time of 16:54.38, dropping 5.67 seconds from her seed time of 17:00.05. She finished 18 seconds ahead of the rest of her heat and held her first place seed.

Ryan Falk of the Tualatin Hills Swim Club finished second with a time of 17:12.38. She was previously seeded eighth with a yards time of 16:50.30.

Kara Church of the Scottsdale Aquatic Club placed third with a 7:16.99. She moved 18 places from her prior seed of 21st.

Women’s 200 IM

The unattached Katelyn Crom took first in the event with a time of 2:19.25, dropping 2.68 seconds from her seed time of 2:21.92. She held her prelims seed of first and finished over two seconds ahead of the rest of her heat.

Spare Time Aquatics Sacramento’s Tina Reutner finished second with a time of 2:21.87, dropping 1.55 seconds from her seed time of 2:23.42. She held her prelims seed of second.

Bellevue’s Bradley snatched another third place finish with a time of 2:22.00. She dropped 1.68 from her prelims time of 2:23.68 and moved up two places from her fifth place seed.

Men’s 200 IM

Tonahauc Zinn of Socal Aquatics placed first with a time of 2:06.46, dropping 1.01 seconds from his seed of 2:07.47. The 14-year-old held his first place seed and finished a little over a second ahead of the rest of his heat.

Palo Alto Stanford’s Joseph Molinari finished second with a 2:07.52, .72 seconds ahead of his prelims time of 2:08.24. He moved up one spot from his prior third place seed.

Will Roberts of Dart Swimming came in third with a 2:07.54, dropping .38 from his prelims time of 2:07.92. He fell one place from his prior seed of second.

Women’s 400 Medley Relay

Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and the Santa Clara Swim Club tied for first with a time of 4:18.32.

Bellevue Swim Club came in third with a time of 4:18.32. They dropped 2.84 seconds from their seed time of 4:21.16.

Men’s 400 Medley Relay

De Anza Cupertino Aquatics placed first with a time 3:53.77. They dropped 1.90 seconds from their seed time of 3:55.67.

Canyons Aquatic Club placed second with a 3:55.36, dropping .36 seconds from their seed 3:56.22. They out touched Palo Alto Stanford by .11.

Palo Alto Stanford placed third with a 3:55.47. They gained 2.54 seconds from their seed time of 3:52.93, but out touched the Hillsboro Swim Team by .01.

Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics took first with 512 points.

The Santa Clara Swim Club took second with 416.5 points.

The Tualatin Hills Swim Club placed third with 254 points.

Men’s Team Scores

De Anza Cupertino Aquatics finished first with 286.5 points

North Bay Aquatics took second with 269 points.

Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics claimed third with 190 points.

Combined Team Scores

Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics took first with 702 point.

The Santa Clara Swim Club finished second with 587.5 points.
