According to Russian news agency, TASS, the Russian Olympic Committee intends to sign a four-year agreement with the International Olympic Committee on measures against violations of anti-doping regulations. ROC president Stanislav Pozdnyakov confirmed this on Friday to journalists in Moscow.

“I am heading for Lausanne next Tuesday and we have an agreement, which will be signed later,” Pozdnyakov told journalists via TASS. “The agreement will be signed by the head of the Olympic Solidarity Commission on behalf of the IOC.”

“The agreement will be valid for the period of four years and will stipulate international cooperation measures, including measures against anti-doping rules violations,” the ROC president added.

Pozdnyakov was elected to ROC presidency May 29, defeating International Swimming hall of fame member Alexander Popov.

The Russian Olympic Committee was banned from competing at the recent 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The IOC lifted its ban on the Russian Olympic Committee after the Winter Olympics after the performances of the “Olympic Athletes from Russia” in South Korea.

The Russian Olympic Committee has been under fire the last few years after reports of a state sponsored doping system in the country, to which Russian officials admitted to. Despite this, the Russians were still allowed to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The documentary, Icarus, which was released to Netflix in August 2017, shed light on the Russian doping system and won an Academy Award for it.
