Nic Fink Wins Close 50 Breast Knockout in Santa Clara

The men’s 50 breast knockout event saw Kevin Cordes, Nic Fink, Andrew Wilson, Miguel De Lara Ojeda, Pavel Romanov, Chuck Kati, Connor Hoppe, Brandon Fischer and Ian Finnerty compete.

Cordes was victorious during prelims after posting a time of 27.70 ahead of Fink (27.80) and Wilson (27.91). De Lara Ojeda and Romanov tied for fourth in 28.04.

Katis (28.14), Hoppe (28.30), Fischer (28.39) and Finnerty (28.43) finished sixth through ninth.

Fink posted the top time during the semifinals, touching the wall in 27.82. Wilson was right behind him in 27.88. Cordes (28.12), De Lara Ojeda (28.30) and Romanov (28.80) also raced in the second heat.

Fink won a close final, finishing in 27.67 ahead of Wilson’s 27.70.
