Jessica Ashwood Touches in 400 Free Meet Record Time in Santa Clara

Jessica Ashwood set a new meet record on her way to a win tonight in the 400 freestyle at the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series Santa Clara. She touched in 4:03.91, just two tenths off her season best. That season best of 4:03.71 is now fourth in the world this year, after Leah Smith clocked the world’s second best time at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis earlier tonight.

Bronte Barratt was second with a 4:06.75.

Chelsea Chenault finished third in 4:13.63, a second before fourth pace swimmer Miranda Heckman in 4:14.81.

Leah Stevens was fifth in 4:21.02. Courtney Tseng (4:22.73), Nicole Olivia (4:22.85), Sandra Soe (4:23.22), and Daniella Hawkins (4:24.21) completed the A final.
