Geneseo Adds Verbal Commit From FAST’s Megan Palmer

NEW COMMIT: Fairport Area Swim Team’s (FAST) Megan Palmer has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Geneseo State University in New York. The Fairport High School senior will join the Knights beginning next fall. The NCAA Division 3 athletic program competes in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).

Palmer’s versatility will add an immediate impact to Geneseo’s strong lineup.

Her best times include:

  • 100 Back 59.17
  • 200 Back 2:10.85
  • 100 Fly 57.98
  • 200 Fly 2:11.69
  • 200 IM 2:10.11

At the 2017 SUNYAC Championships in Buffalo, NY, Megan’s personal bests would have placed her 3rd in the 200 IM, 1st in the 100 Fly, 4th in the 100 Back, 6th in the 200 Back and 4th in the 200 Fly. The Geneseo women won the 2017 SUNYAC title, scoring 362 points over runner-up New Paltz.

Palmer is a team captain of the Fairport Varsity Girls Swimming Team. She recently competed at the New York State High School Championships in Ithaca, where she helped Fairport’s 200 Medley Relay (1:48.04) to a 4th place finish and their 400 Free Relay to a 12th place finish (3:36.48). In addition she also placed 16th in the 100 Fly (58.89) and 24th in the 100 Back (59.17). For her efforts this past fall high school season she was named to the All-Greater Rochester Girls Swimming Team. She’s also a member of Fairport’s Varsity Softball Team.
