Gator Swim Club Picks Up Wins on Speedo Sectionals, Plantation Day 3

The men and women of Gator Swim Club posted top finishes on day three of Speedo Sectionals in Plantation.

Georgia-Mae Hohmann of Gator Swim Club took first in the 100 back with a 1:03.59. Mabel Zavaros of Oakville Aquatic Club finished second in 1:04.37 and Talia Bates of Gator Swim Club finished third in 1:04.65.

On the men’s side, Corey Main of Gator Swim Club won in 55.68. His teammate Jian Wang finished second in 58.15 and Willie Davis of Bolles School Sharks took third in 59.22.

Next up was the women’s 50 breast, where Patricia Casellas of Azura Florida Aquatic took first in 33.40. Nicole Hunnewell took second in 33.86 and Chade Nersicio of East Coast Aquatic Club finished third in 34.43.

Rafael Van Leeuwarde won the men’s race in 29.16, followed by Izaak Bastian of Saint Andrew’s Swimming in 29.75. In third was Jabari Ramsey of Florida Elite Swimming in 30.09.

Nersicio won the women’s 50 fly in 28.22. Kennady Kilger of Oakville Aquatic Club finished second in 28.35 and Eriana Temperino of East Coast Aquatic Club touched third in 28.57.

Runar Borgen of Performance Aquatics touched first in the men’s race in 24.94. In second was Sean Campsie of Gator Swim Club in 25.06 and in third was Marcos Lavado of Azura Florida Aquatic in 25.34.

Isabel Ivey of Gator Swim Club won the women’s 200 IM in a 2:16.92. She was followed by Kathleen Golding of Southern Florida Aquatic Club in 2:17.69 and Zavaros in 2:20.34.

Mack Darragh of Oakville Aquatic Club touched first for the men in 2:04.86. Nikita Denisyako of Gator Swim Club took second in 2:05.11 and Julio Horrego of Hurricane Swim Club touched third in 2:08.38.

Golding took first in the 50 free in a 26.24. She was followed by Bates in a 26.34 and Margaret Gholston of RACE took third in 26.56.

Main won the men’s race in a 23.06. In second was Davis and Runar Borgen of Performance Aquatics who tied in 23.67.

Ivey won the women’s 400 free in a 4:19.38. She was followed by Kensey McMahon of Bolles School Sharks in 4:20.18 and Mary Smutny of AquaKids Sharks Swim Team in 4:20.52.

Lavado won the men’s 400 in 4:00.45. In second place was Michael Petrides of Kamehameha Swim Club in 4:07.04 and in third was Coleman Kramer of Saint Edwards Aquatics in 4:07.31.

The Gator Swim Club squad of Hohmann, Ivey, Bates and Yekaterina Aslanidi won the women’s 400 medley relay in 4:21.63. Pine Crest Swimming took second in 4:22.90 and North Palm Beach Swim Club touched third in 4:26.40.

The Gator Swim Club men also took home a win in the medley relay, with the squad of Wang, Denisyako, Campsie and Mason Wilby touching in 3:53.03. Azura Florida Aquatic finished second in 3:54.46 and Bolles School Sharks touched third in 3:55.80.
